I have never had to take my dog to a groomers until recently and was quite apprehensive about how she would react to having her claws clipped and her teeth cleaned. I chose Wagtails on the Wolds as they had a large number of good reviews. My initial impression was very positive - I think it was Louisa that did both sessions and she was calm, caring and professional which gave me confidence. No issue with either the claw clipping or the teeth cleaning. In particular I was over the moon about how fantastic my dog’s teeth looked after the ultrasonic tooth cleaning. The plaque had been bad and I wasn’t sure how well the treatment would work but it was brilliant. I am going back so that I keep the plaque at bay and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wagtails on the Wolds.

My Lhasapoo girl has had her first Emmipet teeth clean with Wagtails today, after an introductory visit a few days ago to meet Louisa. She came out one very happy, smiley and waggy dog with beautiful clean teeth. The price is right, I have a happy girl, and all booked in for further visit for keeping those teeth nice and clean. Highly recommend. Lovely atmosphere for dogs to be in.

Regular customer who receives 5* experience for our cocker spaniel Jessie. She is 14 years old and a little stiff in her old joints. After having a mud bath, blueberry facials and massage there is a noticeable difference. She runs and leaps around like a puppy, giving her a new lease of life! The treatments maybe a bit pricey but the effect they have on Jessie is worth it. Its refreshing to see Jessie with bouncing energy when we get back home. The care and attention given by the staff leaves me with no doubt she is in good hands. If you haven't tried the treatments, give it a go I'm sure you will notice a difference. And you get to receive a pretty bow on her collar is a nice touch.

Took my dad's border collie today for her first groom with Wagtails. As a rescue dog, she was very nervous and anxious to have people touching her coat where she was badly matted. Speaking to Louisa and discussing everything, I felt I was well informed of what to expect going forward and although we had to wait a few weeks, we did it so Sal would be more comfortable and the salon being quieter for her. I didn't feel judged by the state she was in when we arrived with the heavy underarm matting and Louisa was great with the reassurance that they could go at Sal's pace. After going to numerous other groomers who have struggled with her, I was so impressed by the happy dog that awaited me. She looks and smells delicious - her coat is so shiny I thought for a moment they'd bought the wrong dog out for me. Although Sal had a few nervous moments, they managed to complete her groom and get ever matt removed, she must feel like a new dog. I think some people may gulp at the price, but honestly, it's been worth every penny. And hopefully with more regular grooming sessions she'll not worry too much going forward which is the plan. I can't thank Louisa and Hannah enough! Thank you so much for your time, can definitely tell you run a lovely clean place as Sal came out happy. I'd definitely recommend you to others and suggest people to get in touch for the grooming services they require.

Today we took our 5 month old little cockerpoo Poppy for her first visit to Wagtails of the Wolds We rehomed her 2 weeks ago and had been told she had visited groomers twice before and loved it but not sure that was true as she was very nervous and reactive to the hairdryer and being combed. However Louise turned our scruffy looking little girl into a beautiful little girl ,she looked and smelt so gorgeous I cant thank her enough, and she played with a massive St Bernard while she was there , so cute she tried to trot back in to play with him again as we were leaving.
Thankyou so much for not only making her look absolutely gorgeous but for making her feel so happy in her experience.

We took our little cockapoo daisy to see Louisa for her first groom at wagtails, she had a lot of mats that needed to be removed.
Louise did a wonderful job and daisy remained calm and happy throughout her groom.

We took our 5 year old rescue Stanley for a groom with Louisa & Hannah after a few unsuccessful previous grooms. Stanley was so scared of noise and hated water, which wasn't ideal for grooming him but after speaking to Louisa she really put my mind at ease. She asked lots of questions to ensure they gave Stanley the time and patience he needed and when I picked him up I was over the moon!! Stanley looked shiny and smelt amazing and most importantly, he was happy!! Hannah even managed to dry him, which was one of Stanley's biggest fears! It was so lovely to speak with Louisa, the attention to detail, consideration of my dogs older age, discussion of the type of cut and length demonstration, the flexibility to adapt certain services...was truly an impeccable experience.

Pippa was given additional rest breaks as and when needed if she was tired and we discussed a head massage during her pamper session to give her the best first experience being groomed in a new place.

I have to say it was obvious on collecting Pippa that she was relaxed, and had thoroughly enjoyed her pamper time at Wagtails of The Wolds.

Wagtails on the Wolds are truly magical – like the Harry Potter of the dog world! My vet recommended a full dental clean for my dog, quoted at over £1,000, so I decided to try ultrasonic cleaning instead. Louisa was amazing from start to finish, and the results left me absolutely stunned – all the plaque was removed, and now my dog has pearly white teeth! Incredible service! Louise did the first ever professional groom on my two spaniels Indie and Gracie! You can tell she’s an animal lover and took into account Indie’s poorly leg, didn’t push her but still got everything we’d asked for in the vroom. They came out looking incredible and even got a cute little bow tie to go home with! Absolutely amazing service, a grooming salon that really puts the animals at the centre and give 110% will defo be taking my girls again!

Wagtails managed to fit in my parents 2 Scotties (who were visiting us) quite quickly which was great as they had missed their usual grooming appointment at home. Louisa was really friendly, and helped me decide what cut, lengths etc would be best for the dogs. There was no pressure and she was really helpful. They came out looking lovely and even better than expected - I was really impressed as I’ve seen a lot of Scottie cuts go badly! 🙂 Louisa made it clear that you can be honest about the cut and she will happily fix anything you’re not 100% happy with.
Morag and Jura came out really calm and happy which was nice to see as they can sometimes get a bit nervous in that situation.
Overall everything was explained really well, there was a great list of services but no pressure, everyone was really friendly, reasonably priced, and lovely result. Would highly recommend! Thank you! ⭐️

I first got in touch with Louisa to seek help & advise on cleaning my 9yr old dogs teeth, she is very friendly & accommodating with a very gentle manner whilst also being very informative about what the ultrasonic cleaning entailed. During the initial free consultation, Louisa assessed the degree of plaque buildup on my dog's teeth to determine the suitability of the ultrasonic cleaning for him. She explained the procedure thoroughly and emphasized breaks to manage my dog's comfort during the cleaning as it’s something he’s never had done before.
The ultrasonic cleaning technique has effectively removed years of accumulated plaque, leading to a big noticeable improvement in Alfies teeth &
the procedure also successfully got rid of his very bad breath.
I’m absolutely thrilled & amazed at the results in just one appointment. Louisa suggested a follow up clean in 6 weeks which I did book but I was under no pressure to do so.
I highly recommend this lady & procedure for any dog who has plaque buildup and smelly breath. Thank you Louisa.

What an amazing experience we had at Wagtails today. Our Bernese Mountain Dog Puppy (50kg) has not had many grooms as he is a little nervous and many groomers have refused to do a big dog. However Louisa at Wagtails welcomed him with open arms. I was immediately reassured just going in the door, he was quite chilled, and Louisa was calm and relaxed with him, which I feel helped enormously. After waiting on tenterhooks for a few hours with no alarming phone calls , I arrived to pick up an absolutely stunning version of our Bernese, not only that but he was also so calm and not in the slightest bit stressed or even wanting to leave. I am blown away and will be returning despite moving away from the area, it’s worth the journey for the excellence. I cannot recommend Louisa and Wagtails of the Wolds highly enough. Deedee my Cockapoo started being groomed here from the age of 5 months and they made her so comfortable and they keep her coat in tip top condition she is almost 3 now my male Cockapoo 7 months old Denver comes here for his grooms and the same thing they look after the dogs so well he was 12 weeks old when he started here his now 7 month old , they’re so kind to my dogs and they both go in wagging their tails , I wouldn’t have any other groomer for my dogs I trust them with my dogs and I can relax when they are there, they’re so professional and always explain what they do and ask you how you would like them groomed and always give you advice if you ask 10 out of 10 from us ! best groomers I know , thank you so much from all of us ❤️

Louisa and Hannah have exceeded themselves again! My border collie, Blue, visited for the second time today for a de shedding mud bath and has come back looking, feeing and smelling gorgeous. More importantly, he was so well cared for. I told Louisa in advance that he had a sore paw pad and they were so reassuring that they would look after him. I knew I could trust them and how right I was. He was happy and bright eyed when he came out! They even put a little bandage on his poorly leg. My decision to give Wagtails a go was driven by the previous groomer consistently ignoring my request for my dogs eyelashes not to be removed, and arbitrarily clipping him too short no matter what the season. He also displayed a high level of distress every visit. Crying,shaking,panting (we both were, by the end)!
Yesterday at Wagtails was the polar opposite.
Louisa interpreted my poor description of what I wanted my pooch to look like and I was handed a very relaxed (to the point of laying down) dog. She even identified and removed a tick I had missed. He has eyelashes in tact and smells beautiful but not overpowerfully perfumed. He is groomed skilfully and with consideration of my request. The consultation is very thorough and professional. Louisa also recommended a great place for cocktails where I could wait, which is on the doorstep… can’t wait for his next appointment!

Oh my goodness! What can one say? Absolutely delighted with the results that was amazingly achieved on the first session .DaisyRose is my Cocker Spaniel I recently rescued this sweet girl and during the obligatory health check with ones Vet the condition of her teeth left much to be desired.a friend suggested to check out dog teeth cleaning services.I then found Wagtail's and the lovely Louisa .wow! the whole experience was amazing from start to finish both for DaisyRose and myself! so wonderfully knowledgeable professional and above all, made our visit so special with Louisa's calm and genuine warm friendly approach. I took my pride and joy Cavapoo, Daisy to Louisa & Hannah today for the first time and it couldn’t have gone better. Daisy had a lot of matting unfortunately but Louisa talked me through the process and double checked everything along the way. Daisy is quite a shy rescue but she came out of the groomers looking and smelling lovely! I can tell the ladies really took their time and gave Daisy the time and attention she needed. On top of all that, the friendliness and non judgmental attitude you are met with is worth gold. Daisy had matting due to some circumstances and Louisa understood and did what needed to be done. It feels like more than a groomers. I’m an anxious dog owner and have anxiety leaving mine but I feel like they will likely run into the doors next time! ☺️

Pippa’s first visit to see Louisa & Hannah today. We were nervous as it was her first visit but we needn’t have been because she had a pawfect experience. Pippa did not rush for the door straight away when we collected her - a good indication of whether she had been happy there or not. She looked amazing following her grooming session - Louisa used hypoallergenic, organic shampoo for her sensitive skin and gave her fur a beautiful scissor cut. Pippa emerged smelling fresh, wonderfully clean and best of all she had obviously enjoyed her experience. We can definitely recommend WofTW and have already booked her next appointment.

Bella, my very shy yorkshire terrier from a rescue home, hates being groomed and is incredibly scared of people. I have used a number of dog groomers in the past and each time was not a pleasant experience for Bella nor for myselfl. Louisa is a fantastic dog groomer. She really put my dog at ease when he arrived and did a brilliant job deshedding and cleaning his coat. It's the cleanest and softest it's ever been. I wouldn't go anywhere else and I really can't recommend her enough. Louisa really knows what she's doing. Very professional and a good quality service. 5 stars all round. i would highly recommend this dog grooming Business. we had an appointment at 3:30pm today we felt so welcome to be there and we loved the environment. The staff there was very understanding and supportive with the problems our dog has and everything looked very professional and felt happy and glad knowing our dog luna would be safe. we explained to them what we wanted luna to have during her cut and they took every detail in and did an amazing job with her. i would recommend this dog grooming business to anyone as our results was amazing and we would definitely be returning. thank you for all you’re work we appreciate it 😊

I take our west highland terrier here despite the fact it’s the opposite direction for us to travel from home, work and school but I have never found a groomer who has treated and groomed her so well. Now she is 13 years old her arthritis is getting increasingly worse so we now book her in for a mobility mud bath too! It works its magic every time and she always comes away moving much more freely and seemingly much happier. I can’t recommend Wagtails of the Wolds highly enough. We are very grateful that we found them.

Louisa grooms my Cavapoo Bertie every 3 months as I live a long way away and I have to travel 8 hours round trip to get him groomed as he never looks as amazing as he does after a trip to the Wagtails of the Wolds. He never enjoys going anywhere else and Louisa treats him as one of her own. She is such gentle, reassuring, loving and calms him down. The products are sensational, the service is first class and the grooming salon is immaculate. It is on the same level as going to a 5 star spa for humans. Louisa you are an incredible groomer, thank you for all you do for Bertie. We can't wait to see you again soon.

I took my baby cockapoo Ruby for her first haircut with Louisa and Hannah.. I have been using Wagtails of the Wolds for a few years now and I cannot recommend Louisa and Hannah enough! The service that they offer is excellent and second to none. Louisa is very knowledgable around grooming and dog wellbeing and is happy to share this knowledge and offer advice when needed. My dog Indie, who although is a diva, was very nervous when it came to being groomed. I had tried a number of different groomers over the years before meeting Louisa and Hannah at Wagtails of the Wolds. Their friendly and caring nature puts Indie at ease and grooming is no longer the trauma that it used to be .....for either of us! I cannot imagine ever going anywhere else!

This was our first visit to Louisa and a first groom for our new rescue dog Kobi. Louisa has been very approachable and kind from our first telephone conversation through to the completion of Kobi’s groom. The whole process has been handled very professionally with a lovely personal touch.
Kobi has only been with us for three weeks so we were a little apprehensive about the experience for him but we need not have worried. He seems a very happy (maybe a little relieved 😂) boy who looks amazingly clean and sparkly!
A big thank you to Louisa & Hannah for looking after him so well.
Wagtails is over an hours drive away for us but the experience has been worth the time we invested and their 5 star reviews are well earned.

Honestly the best service from start to finish. I have never been and we were both looked after. I was given clear instructions of what will happen, what if I’m not happy, how they will care for our dog. You can tell they just love dogs, it was calm, the dogs look happy. First time using Wagtails and I couldn’t be happier. My little Shih Tzu Maisie is 12 and has fibrotic myopathy, her left leg is completely wasted so she struggles sometimes. She had a mud massage and full groom. The massage really helped her joints and she was so relaxed. Her coat was glossy and she looked lovely. Very pleased with the care and attention both Louisa & Hannah gave her. Highly recommend.

What a brilliant service - found this company a few weeks ago after discovering my rescue dog had neglected teeth her gums looked quite sore and concerning. Meg my 13 old Springer Spaniel has got her Spring back after having her trim and Mud Massage. Once more she is like a new dog. She had her first mud massage 6 months ago and then after the massage she was acting like a puppy.This new dog lasted for a good six weeks or so. Today she went in her usual old plodding self. When we collected her she was so relaxed she didn’t want to come out of her cage. Walking her yesterday she was plodding along behind me but today she was dragging me along at the full length of her extension lead. I will be taking her back more often for the massage now to make her more comfortable. Many thanks.

Having a 11 month old Sprocker, I was on the hunt for someone to do his first groom, as a little wriggler and super needy I was worried he wouldn’t settle. Our dogs Albert and Fred (wirehaired dachshunds) have been groomed by Louisa for a few years now, and we wouldn't go anywhere else. She listens to what we would like done and has given us her advice when needed. Recently, they have had dental treatment, and I am amazed at the results.

Ollie, my cockapoo always comes back after a groom looking wonderful. It is well worth the little bit extra for Louisa to check his nails and clean his teeth. Our vet was impressed with his teeth when he visited recently

We have Meg, a chocolate brown working Cocker Spaniel.
This was our first visit to Wagtails, and we were so impressed with the professional and caring way Louisa welcomed Meg.
We are so pleased with the result of the grooming, and Meg now looks very smart and tidy, whilst retaining enough of her curls to let her personality shine through.

Wagtails offer a fantastic puppy package that introduces your puppy to all the different stages of grooming in four separate sessions. My 7 month old bordoodle Morris and I have just come home from his final session where he had his full shave, and he looks incredible! The staff at Wagtails made him so welcome and comfortable around all these new experiences. We can't wait to return:)

Louisa is so nice and took really good care of my springer spaniel. It was his first visit to a groomers and he looks incredible. Louisa and her team are lovely and listen to all your dogs needs. This was my spaniels first visit and one of them is usually very anxious when being groomed but we had no problems at all. They looked fabulous after their visit.

Louisa has been clipping Nellies nails for a few months. Nellie has black nails and difficult clip, she also wriggles a lot!
Louisa was warm and welcoming, and we were immediately at ease.

My sprocker Luke was 1 year at the end if January. He had never been groomed. I did some research and the testimonials for Louisa (and Hannah), of Wagtails of the Wolds appeared to be out standing so I booked.
I was not disappointed. Such friendly, kind and caring staff. Luke has had a bad time recently after having a front leg amputated most likely as the vet says, due to an adder bite. I was quite nervous, never mind Luke.
Louisa was very professional and understanding of his differing needs, and catered for this with outstanding care. She and Hannah took care of Luke as though he was their own
Definitely be using again.
Go on give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Could not recommend enough! Took my 10 month old cane corso, Cerberus for his first time proper groom. The staff were absolutely amazing, could not thank them enough, so patient and went by his according, when he was ready as he was very nervous been his first time. His coat has never been so soft and clean, He looks so fresh and smells amazing! I’m very happy with the outcome and will definitely be coming again!

This is by far the best groomer I have ever been to! I have two spaniels and they both came back to me looking the best ever and exactly what I asked for. My eldest is a nervous, reactive boy and in the past I’ve had to use groomers that visit the house or book an appointment when we know the salon will be more or less empty. But at Wagtails, he is so well looked after and loved he happily goes into the salon when it’s busy! Something I’ve never seen him do!
I highly recommend Wagtails and I personally won’t be taking my dogs anywhere else again!

Louisa and the girls at Wagtails are amazing. Bella & Maya had been groomed by the same groomer for 8years, moving counties meant a new groomer. Louisa made me feel so comfortable leaving the girls with her.
I wouldn't take them anywhere else, I am so lucky to have chosen Wagtails of the Wolds.

My puppies first experience at a groomers and she looking amazing. Louisa was so helpful and friendly. She talked me through what would be taking place with Peggy and asked what i wanted out of it. Peggy looks neat and tidy without looking “too groomed” which is what we wanted. Happy I’ve found Peggy’s perfect groomer!

We would highly recommend Louisa and her lovely team. Rita a three year old cocker Spaniel can be VERY fussy!! The team always offer a warm welcome and are able to put us both at ease! Wags of tails are just brilliant! The patience these girls have, especially for my very difficult pugs for their nails clipping, is just amazing. I travel 20 miles to have a visit with the team for sometimes just a quick 5 minutes, (sometimes a lot longer, depending how mine play up!) as the care these ladies have on my fur babies is just so wonderful. I don’t trust anyone else. Wage of tails your worth every mile, thank you for looking after us, Worzel and Lola xx

Louisa did a fantastic job with my very anxious Cavapoo Coco, the care and effort that went into that groom and cut is fabulous. If you are looking for an EXCELLENT dog groomer you need look no further. Louisa and her small team are wonderful. The grooming is first class and Louisa is so caring and thoughtful. Our Tibetan terrier always wags his tail when he sees Louisa and never resists going in for his grooming. I have no worries about leaving him for his grooming. I can highly recommend Wagtails of the Wolds with absolutely no hesitation.
