We are incredibly proud and deeply grateful to share that Wagtails of the Wolds has been awarded the Yorkshire Prestige Award for Best Pet Care Company in Yorkshire for the third time.

To receive this recognition once is an honour. To receive it three times is truly humbling. This award means so much to us because it reflects not just the standard of care we provide, but the values that sit at the heart of Wagtails — kindness, patience, individuality, and genuine love for every dog who comes through our doors.

At Wagtails, our focus has always been on treating every dog as if they were our own. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of building long-standing relationships with our clients and their dogs — from puppies taking their very first steps into the grooming world, to senior dogs who know our routine as well as we do. That trust is something we never take for granted.

Owner Louisa Wellington said:
“Winning this award for the third time means more than words can say. It belongs to our clients, our team, and our wider Wagtails family. Being trusted with people’s dogs is a privilege, and this recognition reflects the care, thought, and heart that goes into everything we do.”

Behind the scenes, Wagtails is supported by a dedicated network of local professionals who help keep the salon running smoothly and safely — from plumbing and drainage to equipment servicing and repairs, and air-conditioning engineers. Their reliability and ongoing support allow us to focus fully on what matters most: the wellbeing, comfort, and happiness of the dogs in our care.

At the heart of Wagtails is our incredible team — kind, hardworking, and deeply committed individuals who consistently go above and beyond. Their attention to detail, teamwork, and genuine compassion are what make Wagtails what it is, and this award reflects their dedication as much as anything else.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Yorkshire Prestige Awards for this recognition, and to our wonderful clients for your continued trust, loyalty, and support. Being part of your dogs’ lives — in big moments and quiet, everyday ones — is something for which we are endlessly grateful.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to doing what we have always done: caring deeply, working thoughtfully, supporting one another, and always putting dogs first.

With heartfelt thanks,

Louisa Hannah, Terri and Imogen
